DeepMind overview and organizational background

DeepMind Technologies Limited (trading as Google DeepMind) is a British-American artificial intelligence research laboratory founded in 2010 and headquartered in London, England. It was acquired by Google in 2014 and later merged with Google AI’s Google Brain division in April 2023 to form Google DeepMind. The organization operates as a subsidiary within Alphabet Inc., and it maintains research centers in multiple countries, including the United States, Canada, France, Germany, and Switzerland. DeepMind was founded by Demis Hassabis, Shane Legg, and Mustafa Suleyman, who aimed to build general-purpose AI that could be useful across many domains.
